According to NOAA’s National Centers for Environmental Information (NCEI), there were 20 separate billion-dollar weather and climate disasters in 2021 across the US, two shy of the record set in 2020. These events caused at least 688 fatalities, many injuries and over $145 billion in disaster costs, which is the third highest cost on record.
In addition, 2021 ranked as the fourth warmest year since records began in the late 1800’s. Preparation, education and awareness are important to surviving extreme weather conditions, minimizing your loss and protecting your property and your business.
