Prior to joining McGriff, Buchwald served as a senior associate in the Federal and International Tax Group with the international law firm Alston & Bird LLP. His tax risk experience includes transactions involving renewable energy tax credits, joint venture structures, S corporations, and tax exposures in domestic and international mergers and acquisitions.
“Having worked closely with many of the underwriters in the tax insurance industry, Seth brings industry knowledge and experience that will drive business development for McGriff’s tax insurance practice and deliver creative solutions for clients,” said Patrick Maguire, national director of Specialty at McGriff.
“We are excited to add Seth to the team and believe his hiring further reinforces our commitment to the transactional risk space,” said Dusty Cahill, Executive Risk Advisors Co-Leader. “In five years, we’ve assembled a talented group of seven highly specialized and accomplished professionals.”
Buchwald earned two bachelor of business administration degrees (accounting and finance) from the University of Georgia’s Terry School of Business. He also earned a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Texas School of Law in Austin.
Buchwald will serve as a key liaison with the tax insurance markets and directly support clients as they navigate new and complex tax matters in a growing and constantly evolving market. He can be reached at seth.buchwald@mcgriff.com or 404-313-1612.
